At RESAMA, we focus on the production and generation of knowledge and skills related to environmental migrations. We develop actions on multiple fronts, including independent research and publications, consultancy and specialized studies for international organizations, and capacity building and support in various settings for diverse stakeholders, including communities and grassroots organizations. Our qualified work in advocacy within international forums and public participation spaces is also a fundamental part of our strategy to advance the development of comprehensive policies and solutions.
We adopt an inter- and transdisciplinary approach, with a special emphasis on the need to seek solutions, whether at the political-legal level or through the inclusion and empowerment of affected local communities and those in mobility processes.
We recognize that effective responses require an understanding of the specific local contexts and dynamics of Latin America - including its socio-environmental, political, economic, cultural, and spiritual aspects.
In addition to addressing the immediate consequences of disasters, environmental degradation, and climate change, we are dedicated to understanding and promoting long-term resilience and adaptation strategies, from community bases to decision-makers and policymakers.
